The State Department has issued a general warning for the threat of terrorism in Europe this summer.  The threat is attributed to ISIS, Al Qaeda and affiliated groups. Although there is nothing specific, the warning highlights France, Russia, Sweden and Britain.

Americans traveling overseas this summer should be particularly vigilant and avoid high traffic areas, tourist spots like restaurants and night clubs during peak times, mass transit during rush hours and western brand hotels. Terrorists attacks are up, particularly in Europe, and they are using “everyday objects” to carry out their attacks. Vehicles have proven to be one of the lethal weapons of choice  lately and tourists should be particularly aware of the possibility of vehicle bourne terrorism.  Read more
