Iraq had over 1.5 million Christians prior to the 2003 toppling of Saddam Hussein.  Since that time the number has dwindled to a few hundred thousand. The largest concentration of Christians in Iraq has been in the north around Mosul where some of the fiercest fighting with ISIS has occurred. ISIS all but destroyed Christian towns surrounding Mosul and brutally murdered Christians and Muslims alike. With the recent battlefield defeats of ISIS, Christians are starting to return to one of the most heavily destroyed Christian towns, Qaraqosh, outside of Mosul.  Read mo
